Driving to Switzerland: An itinerary

Our family road trip to Switzerland was EPIC! We hiked to the most stunning lakes, took in the breathtaking scenery and felt like we were on top of the world. Not only that it was our first time camping (as a family) and the site we stayed at had the most spectacular mountain views whichever way we looked. Having breakfast while watching the mist rise from the peaks and the sun hit the valley was the best. But what about the journey there? It’s a few hundred kilometres from the UK so here’s how we managed driving to Switzerland with a child in tow.

What to take on a family glamping trip

It’s said “Glamping is likely to satisfy any city slicker seeking a little refuge in nature – without foregoing any of life’s luxuries”. This was very much at the forefront of our minds when we reviewed the glamping experience at Chessington World of Adventures for our parent blog. They have a fantastic set up and while there was little we needed to take with us, that’s not always the case.

Child friendly activities on the Isle of Wight

We didn’t realise until we visited quite how much there is to do on the Isle of Wight. We had a list as long as our arm of places we wanted to see but we went with the flow and didn’t quite make it to all. One of the places we are yet to see is Blackgang Chine which is the UK’s oldest amusement park. Set in beautiful cliff top gardens on the south coast, experiences on offer include water slides, roller coasters and barrel rides. POD would love to be a fairy princess in her own castle although fighting pirates on a ship would come a close second!

The best places to find street art in London

The most well renowned place for street art is around Brick Lane and Shoreditch. This part of East London is a mecca for talent with artists travelling there from all over the world. Banksy, Roa, Stik, Malarky, Dscreet, Jim Vision and D*Face are just a few of the names associated with the area. There are truly incredible pieces to be found and, while organised tours are available, I took to the streets with my camera with a view to capturing some of the creativity.
